The difference between angular contact ball bearings and deep groove ball bearings

time:2024-01-17   pv:3

Angular contact ball bearing is a device with inner and outer rings and steel balls. Its main feature is that it uses spherical rolling elements in its construction to support the rotation of the bearing, and the contact point between the ball and the inner and outer rings is the angular contact point .

Angular contact ball bearings can bear both radial load and axial load, and can work at higher speeds. Mainly used in metallurgical equipment, mining machinery and engineering machinery, papermaking machinery, wind turbines, semiconductors, machine tools, gear devices, electric motors (motors), pumps and compressors, injection molding machines, motorcycles, etc.

1. Load difference

Deep groove ball bearings: mainly bear radial load, but can also bear radial load and axial load at the same time. When deep groove ball bearings have large radial clearance, they have the performance of angular contact bearings and can withstand large axial loads. The friction coefficient of deep groove ball bearings is very small and the limit speed is also very high.

Angular contact ball bearings: Single-row bearings can bear radial loads and one-way axial loads. DB combinations, DF combinations and double-row angular contact ball bearings can bear radial loads and bidirectional axial loads. The DT combination is suitable for situations where the one-way axial load is large and the rated load of a single bearing is insufficient. ACH type bearings for high speed have small ball diameter and large number of balls, and are mostly used for machine tool spindles.

2. Difference in contact angle

Deep groove ball bearing: When it only bears radial load, the contact angle is 0°.

Angular contact ball bearings: How to distinguish the angle of angular contact ball bearings? The standard contact angles are 15, 25 and 40°. The larger the contact angle, the greater the axial load capacity. The smaller the contact angle, the more conducive to high-speed rotation. Angular contact ball bearings are suitable for high-speed and high-precision rotation occasions.

3. Structural differences

Deep groove ball bearings: The inner and outer diameters and width dimensions of deep groove ball bearings are the same as those of angular contact ball bearings. There are double shoulders on both sides of the outer ring channel, and the curvature is smaller than that of angular contact ball bearings, and it is not located in the center.

Angular contact ball bearings: The inner ring size and structure of angular contact ball bearings are the same as those of deep groove ball bearings. The outer ring channel generally has a single shoulder, and the specific value of the position must be considered during design, which is related to the degree of the contact angle.
